What age group do you cater to?
We offer classes for children aged 5 and above, grouped by age and skill level.
Classes & Curriculum
How are classes conducted?
All classes are conducted live on Zoom in small groups to ensure individual attention.
What is the class frequency and duration?
Classes are held twice a week, each session lasting 60 minutes.
What levels do you teach?
We offer Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Intermediate, and Tournament-level batches with a clear pathway for progression.
Is there a structured curriculum?
Yes. We follow a step-by-step curriculum that covers tactics, strategy, openings, endgames, and positional play, tailored to each level.
Trial Classes
Do you offer trial classes?
We recommend signing up for a demo or evaluation session with a coach. It helps you experience our teaching style and helps us assess the right batch for your child.
Scheduling & Missed Classes
What if my child misses a class?
We offer up to 2 makeup classes per month, provided you inform us in advance.
Can I request more makeup sessions?
If there’s a genuine reason, we’ll consider additional makeup sessions.
Can I change my batch timing?
Batch changes are only allowed at the end of the month to ensure consistency for all students.
Batch Size & Interaction
How many students are there in a batch?
Each batch has a maximum of 5 students to ensure personal attention and active participation.
Time Zones.
What time zones are the classes scheduled in?
Our class timings are primarily USA and Canada-friendly. If you’re based in Europe or other regions, we will offer a convenient slot that works for you.
Platform & Practice
What do I need to attend the classes?
A laptop or tablet with internet access and Zoom installed is sufficient. We also use platforms like Lichess or Chess.com for exercises.
Is there homework or practice required between classes?
Yes, students receive regular puzzles and assignments to reinforce concepts and build consistency.
How will I know if my child is improving?
We provide monthly feedback, track online chess ratings, and assess performance through class engagement and homework.
Certification
Will my child receive a certificate?
Yes, we offer certificates of completion at the end of each level and for participation in special events or tournaments.
Communication & Language
What is the medium of instruction?
All classes are conducted in English using simple, clear communication that children can easily follow.
Payment Method
What payment methods are accepted?
We prefer receiving payments in USD. Payment details will be shared upon enrollment.
Coach Credentials
Are the coaches FIDE-rated and trained?
Yes, all our coaches are FIDE-rated players and are professionally trained by the academy before they begin teaching. This ensures consistent teaching quality and a strong understanding of how to work with children across levels.
